Please look at the case of 4-star Nicanor Bartolome and 3-star Allan Purisma. Bartolome was replaced by Purisima when Bartolome still has around 4 months to go before his mandatory retirement (@age 56), for the only reason that Purisima cannot wait to take over as CPNP, by capitalizing his closeness with PNoy (but karma is real). Bartolome opted to retire (even without accepting any job offer from PNoy) on the day of their turnover, so that Purisima can get his 4th star. Why? Because Bartolome with his mistahs are all MAPITAGANS (Gentlemen) – they wish to give way to PMA class ’81 as the next ruling class.
