Jan-Mar 2021 Class Call

Mighty Mapitagans @ 40+1

by: Nickbart

Thank God we are now in the best stage of our lifetime, 60-70 years of age which is the most productive in human life, according to our mistah uncle Sam Diciano based on an extensive study in the USA published in New England Journal of Medicine in 2018. The study further states that “at age 60 you reach the top of your potential”. Therefore, the Mighty Mapitagans are in their best level of life.

As majority of the class are now retired it is just right that we treat ourselves well as it is important to be happy. We already made our alma mater proud with the career successes and the service reputations indelibly written under our sleeves. It’s just proper that we now relax and enjoy.

As many of us may well be aware, our age level is vulnerable to sickness. Do not be afraid of it. Everyone has to go through it as it is part of life’s cycle. Let the doctors handle our body and let God and nature handle our lives. But let’s be in charge of our own moods.

Allow me to thank everyone for supporting the different projects of the class especially the MAPITAGAN VILLAGE which the class, through the assistance of Police Regional Office 5 under PBGen Bartolome Bustamante, put up in Brgy Batag, Virac, Catanduanes which was badly hit by successive typhoons. On Dec 17, 2020, our class donated 350 thousand worth of construction materials like GI sheets, plywood, lumber, as well as rechargeable light. Kudos to the Bicol Police for helping in the construction of 30 houses for homeless typhoon victims.

Thank you mistah Dante Costes for helping me locate a beneficiary in Virac and many thanks to mistah Jeff Tupas for the legwork and many other errands for the class.

We are the Mighty Mapitagans – classmates forever! Let’s protect our bond and endeavor to make it stronger. Happy 41st Anniversary! Ahoo! Ahoo! Ahoo!

From the desk of the class secretary

A Happy and bountiful New Year 2021 to all Mapitagans! Let me take this opportunity to share a simple but very beautiful and meaningful prayer, “A Prayer for the New Year’ posted in our Viber Group by our illustrious mistah, my kinakapatid, Ces Ordoyo, that cez’ everything we need to express to God Almighty thanking Him not only the joy and blessings of the past year but also for the trials and difficulties we experienced thus that made us seek Him all the more for the benefit of renewing our Faith and Love for God The Father and Our Lord Jesus Christ to serve Him and our fellow men:

“Lord, Whether I leave behind a year of joy or of trials and difficulties, I pause to give thanks. Thank you for being with with me everyday of every year. Thank you for making all things new and for giving me the grace of fresh starts and new beginnings. Remind me of your presence in the days to come, even when I feel pushed and rushed by busyness. Be glorified in my life this year.”

“MAY THE LORD ANSWER ALL YOUR PRAYERS.” PSALM 20:5
