It has just been a few months since the class participated in the 2019 PMAAAI Homecoming events, and here we are, ever busy once again making preparations for our impending and much-awaited Mapitagan 40th ‘Ruby’ anniversary during the 2020 PMAAAI Homecoming. I’m sure there are a lot of things going through our minds on how this supposed extraordinary “every 5-years only” event would play out. Nevertheless, challenging as it may seem to be, it would all depend on how we all plan in making it a successful one.

As we all faithfully believe in the Divine Providence and Intercession, I have asked for a little help from one of our “pastors” – Jardie-teleman, to lead us all into a solemn prayer of Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication to obtain Our Lord’s blessings in whatever state in life we are in to include all our plans and activities:

Prayer for all of us:

“Hindi lahat ng tao ay binibigyan ng pagkakataon na mabuhay ng matagal, kaya tayong mga biniyayaan ng mahabang buhay ay dapat na magpasalamat sa Panginoon sa bawat araw na tayo ay nabubuhay. Lord, pinupuri ka namin, sinasamba ka namin at pinasasalamatan ka namin dahil sa dakila mong kaluwalhatian. Ikaw ang aming gabay, sandalan at lakas sa araw araw. Panginoon, itinataas namin sa iyo ang mga kasapi ng PMA 80, sampu ng aming mga mahal sa buhay. Ilayo po ninyo kami sa lahat ng kapahamakan, mabibigat na karamdaman, masasamang gawa ng mga kaaway at sa lahat ng sakuna. Bigyan po ninyo kami ng pagkain sa araw araw at tagumpay sa lahat ng aming nilalahukan. Panginoon hipuin ninyo ng inyong mapagpalang kamay ang bawat isa sa amin para kami ay patuloy na maging matalino at mahusay sa aming mga gawain, bigyan ninyo kami ng lakas para labanan ang bawat hamon at pagsubok ng buhay at bigyan ninyo kami ng pagkakaisa, pagmamahalan at pagtutulungan para patuloy na maging isang matibay na samahan.”

After the PMAAAI Homecoming activities, a few things happened….And, here are some of them:

For the April & May-born mistahs, a joint fellowship lunch hosted by the celebrators was again held at Gloria Maris, Greenhills last 23 May. It was again a joke- filled and tummy filling event as usual.

On June 21, 2019, a team led by Mistah Ces Ordoyo and a number of Mapitagans visited our mistah Eldon Nemenzo at his home in Bacolod as an important part of an itinerary. About 56 Mapitagans and one Sandigan gave contributions for Eldon’s medical needs. Thanks to all of you!!!

Last 12 June, attended by a record- breaking 33 mistahs, a sumptuous fellowshipand birthday lunch was held at Tamarind Resto at SM Aura, Taguig City for the June-born celebrators.

Birthday Celebrators for the month of June: 11 Ric Pasamba, 14 Chuck Chua Chiaco, 17 Jess Lomeda, 17 Del Lorenzo, 20 Roque Ramirez, 22 Dante Taliño and 25 Gil Meneses.

It was followed by a phase two celeb last June 27 at the Easy Tiger, 2nd floor Veranda Area, Uptown, BGC in honor of and a-once-in a-lifetime blowout of Magnificent Sam, who incidentally just made a ‘Hole-In-One’ (actually the 5th in his golfing career) at the Back 9, Hole No. 2, Kagitingan using his #1 pitching iron!! It was again a fun event as expected.
