Mar-Apr 2019 ClassCall

We’re not really dozing off as a class… sabi ni Pres. Nicky Bart. Yes, of course, we’ve been quite busy the past two months, have we not? Hehehe.

The class viber group “Mapitagan” has always been “a friend”, a sure-fire guide for me and it sort of functions like a journal of events happening daily … that’s really cool! It has been logging daily exchanges of pleasantries, birthday greetings, invitations, reminders, anecdotes, notes, quotes and quotations, photos of events or depictions of “wala lang” – type moments and events, jokes…and sometimes flashes of brilliant ideas and suggestions.

Updates on Mapitagan Class Activities in Brief:

After the Yuletide season of 2018, a lot of things ensued….There’s a lot to try recalling but here are some:

In JLo’s trip back to his hometown of

Daet, Camarines Sur, he chanced upon Merong who joined him in laying to her final rest JLo’s beloved mother. Together with Ric P and Efren Y, they spent a wonderful time cooling off at Merong’s impressively beautiful resort, Maria Fatima Resort at Labo, Cam Norte.

Invitation to the rest of the class then was inevitable, and so Merong kind of proposed, upon Ric’s suggestion, that the June-born mistahs’ birthday celebration be held there. Hmmm…isn’t that great?

In the soaring riding career of Mie and Rainier, it looks like there’s no turning back anymore as they embarked and joined, together with Bob, the Motor Rider Safety Training (MRST) Class 6-18 that included city and night ride activities and a daunting bike jump. They successfully graduated last January 28. Careful guys.

Also, on January 21 & 23, the class reps expressed our deepest sympathy and last respects to Mr. Henry Sy Sr., the beloved father of our mistah, Henry Sy Jr. or Big Boy as he is fondly called by those close to our mistah.

Last 24 January, a sumptuous fellowship lunch was held at Gloria Maris, Greenhills for the January-born celebrators. It was again a fun event as usual.

There’s much to be joyful about as we share the pride and dignity that goes along with it as two distinguished classmates of ours won coveted Cavalier Awards during the PMAAA General Membership Meeting in the run up for the PMAAA 2019 Alumni Homecoming last January 26. Sec. Ed Del Rosario was awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award for Highest Command and Achievement Category while Jess Lomeda was also awarded a Cavalier Award in Cybersecurity Field, Private Sector. Proud to be Mapitagan!!!

In the First Quarter Aguinaldo Seniors Golf Tournament last Jan 30, Boy George strikes again winning yet another trophy as Gross Champion having scored a gross score of 74 and the Longest Putt (2 pins from Hole 18)!!! Good job, mistah!

The PMAAA Alumni Homecoming activities on February 14-15 fired off without a hitch as the class spent some togetherness with ladies present during a cool breezy boodle-rich dinner at Cholo’s Gastro Park along M.H. Del Pilar St, Baguio City.

The following morning came the much awaited Alumni Parade and Review of the Alumni Classes.

But, before that could happen, our Mapitagan Golf Team composed of Boy George, Emil, BongDA, Jojie, Ces, Sammy, Bogs and Oby took the First Runner Up Trophy in the Firstie Category of the PMAAA Battle of the Classes 2019….Ahoooo..ahooo.. ahooo!!!!!

For the February-born mistahs, a deluxe fellowship lunch was again held at Gloria Maris, Greenhills last 26 February. It was again a joke-filled and tummy filling event as usual.
